Last year around this time a good friend Levi Patrick passed away in a car accident coming back from California. He was a beloved man by everyone he knew. Levi’s football number was 41 and he always drew this interesting fish on his hand during class. Most of the football players at Lewis-Palmer were extremely close to Levi, and after he passed many of them had tattoos done in his honor. Most were a combination of his football number and the Levi fish. Not all of Levi’s friends got that variation of tattoo though. Many of his church buddys had a wide variety of tattoos including Superman and guitars. Levi’s dad even has a whole sleeve that includes Spongebob and master-chief from Halo. I didn’t get a tattoo, but this is my way of honoring Levi Patrick. It took a few months to compile all of the photos, and we are still missing quite a few. I trashed about 5 designs before I settled on this combination of tattoos and photos of Levi. Yesterday, me and a few of the football players went to the Patricks house to drop of the poster design. What was supposed to be a 5 minutes drop-off turned into a 6 hour chat filled with laughs and a seemingly endless supply of food. Every time we told Mrs. Patrick we should probably leave, she would just bring us more food. It was wonderful being reminded how vibrant the Patrick family has always been. It has been just over one year since the accident and i hope this poster will ensure the Levi won’t ever be forgotten. Remember Levi, be like Jesus. Miss you buddy.
